Description: What is leadership, and how can managers become more effective leaders? These questions, and more, will be answered during this course.

In this course, attendees will learn key differences between management and leadership to discover what a leader truly does. They will learn how emotional intelligence (EI) factors into effective leadership and how to develop EI competency. Attendees will learn about six fundamental leadership styles and will examine their own leadership styles. Through interactive group and individual exercises, attendees will learn and develop key leadership skills, including communicating effectively, bringing clarity to a team, inspiring and motivating, building relationships, and coaching. Attendees will leave the course ready to become more effective leaders, not just on their project teams, but in their personal lives as well.

Description: Psychologist Daniel Goleman has identified six different leadership styles, including Commanding, Visionary, Affiliative, Democratic, Pacesetting, and Coaching. What do each of these leadership styles mean, which one is closest to you, and which one is most effective for your situations?

In RefineM’s What Is Your Leadership Style course, you will learn more about each of the six leadership styles identified by Goleman. You will learn best practices for each leadership style and understand when a style may not be ideal at a particular moment. You will participate in individual and group exercises to reinforce your understanding, and will leave the course ready to practice ideal leadership styles on your teams.

Description: Effective communication depends not only on the message you send, but how your intended audience receives it. One possible distortion of the message is the recipient’s behavioral style. The DISC model describes four behavioral styles: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. How do you craft an effective message to reach people exhibiting each of these behavioral styles?

In RefineM’s Effective Communication Using DISC course, you will learn more about each of the behavioral styles described by the DISC model. You will learn how to craft effective messages to reach people exhibiting each behavioral style, and will participate in individual and group exercises to reinforce the concepts. You will leave this course with a stronger grasp of DISC and will be able to leverage your knowledge to enhance your communication skills.
