What is the Project Management Professional (PMP)® Exam?
The Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification through The Project Management Institute (PMI) has been the gold standard for project management certification for over 30 years. Over 750,000 project managers have earned the certification, demonstrating their ability to deliver large, complex projects on time and within budget.
To qualify for the PMP certification exam, you must fulfill the following requirements:
• With a secondary degree (high school diploma or global equivalent) you need at least five years of project management experience and 7,500 documented hours spent leading projects, or with a four-year degree (bachelor’s or global equivalent) you need at least three years of project management experience and 4,500 documented hours spent leading projects.
• You also need 35 contact hours in project management education with both the secondary and four-year degrees.
How can I pass the PMP exam on my first try?
To pass the PMP exam on your first try, you need to understand inputs, outputs, techniques, and interactions of all 47 project management processes. You need to draw from your experience to answer questions about the best course of action in a series of project scenarios. You need to prepare and follow through on a study plan that allows you to understand, and not just memorize, project management processes and project flow. Finally, you need to develop an exam day approach that helps you reduce stress and manage your time during the exam.
What is the best way to prepare on a tight schedule?
Many exam candidates struggle with exam preparation. Week-long boot camps with intense, focused study can be beneficial but also require significant time and money investments. Some candidates study on their own from popular exam preparation books or online software, but they lose the guidance of an experienced instructor. Self-paced training using online videos is a great solution for those who cannot spare the time and money to attend a boot camp but need more guidance than self-study materials can provide.
Our self-paced video series combines the high-quality teaching of our PMP-certified and highly experienced lead instructor, NK Shrivastava, with materials and support to help you study for the exam at your own pace. The series includes over 13 hours of video that covers all process groups and knowledge areas of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) Fifth Edition. You will come away with a better idea of the most critical exam topics and will also learn which project management processes give the best return on your time and resource investment. You will learn all 47 processes and will be better prepared to manage projects and project teams in key areas, including scope, time, cost, quality, risk, communications, and many more.
